What is the meaning of Flight 316 on Lost? Is it about John 3:16?

Flight 815 makes sense. 8 and 15 are numbers that show up all over, like Hurley's lotto numbers, the hatch numbers that Desmond has to punch in, etc. So I was thinking about the meaning of 316 and suddenly it struck me --- John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son," etc.

John Locke was told he would have to die (give his life) in order to bring everyone back to the Island. Then John was SORT OF resurrected. The symbolism seems like more than coincidence. And John killed Jacob, which is like a metaphor for Jesus fulfilling the laws of the Old Testament.

I've always focused on the Buddhist and Enlightenment philosophy that's in Lost, plus the obvious idea of karma that has been a theme throughout. But suddenly I see a Christian mystical idea popping up along with everything else.

What say y'all?

I would be really pissed off if it turned out they foisted something biblical. I know it's all about superstitious nonsense, but religious superstitious nonsense does more harm than good. I'd like to find out for sure before I give them anymore of my time and money.

I think it makes sense the number 316 with John 3:16.

Lok was the only one who did not care about the empty life that led off the island!

I was thinking of something interesting, the first name of Lok, is Jhon!

Ben killed 'Jacob'. Locke is not Locke anymore but is some spirit that has been hanging around the island for revenge on Jacob. Juilet fell down the well but managed to use the electromagnetic thing to change whats happened but we don't know what that is yet

I never thought of that before, but I definitely agree with you. I also saw a picture the "Lost Last Supper". The lost characters are all sitting at a table posed like the picture of the Last Supper, with Locke in the middle, like Jesus.
