Do you ever google yourself or friends?

Do you? Most people have done it once. What results have you gotten?

Update:

@mongobread

I'm sorrry, that sucks. :(

Update 2:

@reader

Don't worry, crazy old author ladies are kickarse. :)

Oh, I googled one of my friends and she got Author, Psychic Artist, Color Energy Healer ... it was pretty awesome.

Update 3:

@Billet

Oh, yeah that was you. :) I was being all stalkerish and decided to see what came up when I googled you and other Y!A people that I have on facebook. I'm just boring- harry potter stuff, social networking stuff, school stuff....not so special. And I don't have a tombstone yet, but I do get creepy old guys. :D

@everyone else

It's going to be hard to pick a best answer for this, y'all are an amazing lot of people. <3

    There's a crappy youtube video of a girl with my name that's had all of... 9 views, where she says nothing, does nothing, and basically just has her brother or someone trying to pick her nose occasionally :/

    That aside, we have an author on with my name, a charity athlete, some tramp on Facebook getting groped in her main photo,and an Aussie girl on Myspace with the frightening tag line "looks like a fresh axe wound on a bears back" o.O

    High prospects for my name.

    Yes, I've googled myself on more than one occasion--all at times when I was horribly bored. I got one lady who owned a business and another one who was an activist. I thought it was really weird since I do want to own my own business (and actually the kind she owned, oddly enough) and would like to help people. My first name is also the name of an ancient people and kingdom, but I do have a modern city that bears my name. It was named after a queen.

    My first sister’s name is extremely obscure. It’s so obscure, it's odd to find it on name sites and name books. If it comes up, I assume the site or book has all the names in the world, and we even laughed at how she could put in her full name in her email address and the message that the name was already in use didn't come up. So, as you can only imagine, not very many interesting results came up.

    My second sister’s name is an extremely common name that has so many variations, it's mind boggling. When I put in her name, the way we spell it here in America, it doesn't bring up as many results as my name but I do know there's a queen, a runner, a leader, and a singer who bear the same name as her. If I type it in the way we originally spelled it, back in Africa, then I get around 7 million links.

    When it comes to my mom, all it takes are two words: Immaculate Conception. Yup.

    Oh, yes, I have reached that level of boredom many, many times.

    I just typed in my first name and apparently, I'm a saint.

    And under that there's ''(Insert My Name Here) Wonderpen & Her Magic Pen!''

    Then there's more about me being a saint, and then there's a (Insert My Name Here) cafè.

    Results for my friends:

    Shoes, a movie, a town, ''we are mapping your dreams'' (...?), a magazine, a financial group, a missing child, a Saint, a country, a US state, a home builder, a lawyer, a haunted restaurant.

    I think ''we are mapping your dreams'' is my favourite. :D

    I got a tombstone. Indicative of the impact I've had on the world.

    EDIT: hahahahaha I'M an author, psychic artist and colour energy healer!!

    :)

    When I Google the names of my friends, I get;

    a popular porn star

    a religious English writer

    their Twitter page

    another tombstone

    someone drunk on Youtube

    graduate student, Multimodality Molecular Imaging Lab :\

    a fictional character in Bold and the Beautiful

    nature noir?

    an Australian politician

    And I just Googled your name .... and Harry Potter references came up. Go figure :p

    EDIT: I'm also an Ohioan wash-woman who lived in 1862.

    @ Shelby: I typed in Josh's name and discovered he was Student of the Month in November.

    "... recognized for being an incredibly conscientious and hard-working student. At a time when a lot of seniors are beginning to slack off, Josh continues working as hard as ever."

    Lol.

    @ Josh: Is it you, perchance? You seem to get a certain thrill out of kicking my butt on Pokemon. Why not reality?

    I've Googled nearly everyone I know. I felt like a stalker, but I'm glad that I'm not the only one who does :)

    When I Googled my name, I came up with this dead actress who used my real name as a sort of "Pen Name" for acting (I have no idea what else to call it...)

    @reader: Thesaurus.com! Best website for those words that I can't quite remember! (It's actually bookmarked on my computer... :D)

    I google your mum.

    I just googled myself. There were 4 million results. I'd probably be about 3,999,990th considering my greatest achievement was coming 2nd in cross country when I was nine.

    Haha, yes! We looked up my friend's name on Google Images once and a fat dude came up (no offense intended) XD

  • 1 decade ago

    Yeah, I've did. But I got my orkut and facebook profiles in my results, and a few questions that I've modified in wiki answers too. Then all comes is info abt a builders with my name.

    When I did my friends', there are many famous ppl or film stars with most of their names so all I got is info abt them and their movies.
