9 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHunger Games fans, Did you know this about Peeta...?
So, being bored the other day, I was messing with Google translator and I typed 'Peeta' in and had it detect the language and meaning. Apparently, in Estonian, Peeta means be considered. In connection with the Hunger Games, Peeta wants to be considered by Katniss as a boyfriend and such. Do you think this mean of Peeta was purposely used by Collins or is it just a waayy cool coincidence?

4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhat books have you read lately that you would consider "deep"?
I've been working on my summer reading list but it all seems to be filled with...YA, fantasy, and utopian/dystopian books. I need some recommendations for deeper books, maybe even classics. Help!
13 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A, I love people like this! Did you ever do something like this?
I found this on SixBillionSecrets dot com and it's pretty beastly!
"When I was 10, I cheated in my vision test so I would get glasses.I was obsessed with Harry Potter."
See, this is why the world is awesome. Oh, and how was your day?
15 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhat would you doooo for a Klondike bar?

12 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoDid you hear? A new twilight book is going to be in the rampage!?
Oh my. I know what you're thinking. My mind reader powers are telling me you are thinking or even yelling, " http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/ ". (Hint, press the blue button. Can't miss it. Even if you are Mrs.Cullen. Oh, and make sure your sound/speakers are on!)
Here's a link to the story. http://www.kidglue.com/2010/03/31/a-new-twilight-b...
What do you think? And who the hey is Bree Tanner?
18 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhy do we love disaster movies and books so much?
So I got 2012 as a gift and despite the fact that's a pretty horrible movie, plot wise and yet I still love it. What *is* it about apocalypse movies that gets us? The effects, the actors? Do tell!

Do you? Most people have done it once. What results have you gotten?
32 AnswersGoogle1 decade agoB&A, Have you got a dystopian goodie for me?
Now, I recently read the Hunger Games, both one and two, Unwind by Neal Shusterman, and The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness and I really enjoyed them all. They're all dystopian books and I've discovered that these are my now favorite type of books.
Have any good reccomendations? I'd perfer if they were YA dystopian but adult books work too.

Instead, I become even more tired. Why's that? Do I just have issues or what?
8 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoHey B&A (ooh, that rhymed!) D'you miss me? Oh, and What're you currently reading?
AND the rumors are correct! I'm coming back from my long absence. :)
Really though, what are you reading? I'm looking for something to read, something with a bit of fantasy, sci-fi, and romance. Adventure wouldn't hurt either.
P.S.: And have you guys heard of Doctor Who?
15 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHow to remove the Windows Security Center malware/virus?! I've tried Malwarebytes's Anti Malware but...?

3 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoA job at Barnes and Noble and a question about age?
So, where I live, Minnesota, the starting age where it is legal for people to work is 14. I'm 15, but on the application to Barnes and Noble where I'd like to work after school says that you have to be 16 and older. However, when I called to ask if our local B&N was hiring and the age that they hired, they said that they hire 14 and up. So I'm majorly confused.
Also, on the application it asks to check your age and the only options it gives are 16, 17, or older. So what do I put in that area?
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoWhat are some songs that bring back such strong memories?
Well, I just heard Kiss Me Thru the Phone and even though I don't even *like* the song, it brings back really great and strong memories of my friends and I and a road trip. It was fun and as the words to the song flashed in my head, it's like I was transported back to those moments.
What song(s) do you get that same experience from? What's the story behind it personally for you?
16 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat was your first job?
14 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat songs were you forced to listen to listen to in school?
For me, it was all the 'School House Rock' and 'We Didn't Start The Fire' by Billy Joel.
I like WDSTF, but school house rock got to be a much.
How about y'all?
13 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoB&A: Are you friends with your contacts on any other sites?
Or even real life? Did you know that it was so and so when you first talked to to them?
Yes, I know this is in the 'wrong' catagory, but I like asking my questions to B&A because 1) we're awesome and 2) most of my contacts are from B&A.
18 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoans: What did you think of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Epilogue?
Personally, I hated it. No, hate's to strong a word-- MAJORLY disliked it.
The fact that Harry ended up with Ginny bugs me to no end. Actually, Ginny herself is quite annoying. From someone who's barely mentioned to SuperWoman? Mary Sue, I say.
...and their kid's names! I think Jo might have had serious writer's block at the end.
That Neville and Luna didn't even go out...they were meant to be!
I liked Ron and Hermione's relationship though. That was about the only thing I liked int the epilogue.
What also bugged me was that it ended: "All was well". Really? The whole happily ever after deal? I know that there were a ton of deaths but still! Couldn't there have been a conflict or something thing that would have ended the series better than that?
Going to end the rant now.
What did you think of the DH epilogue?
21 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoSemi-formal or formal tops?
