B&A, Have you got a dystopian goodie for me?
Now, I recently read the Hunger Games, both one and two, Unwind by Neal Shusterman, and The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness and I really enjoyed them all. They're all dystopian books and I've discovered that these are my now favorite type of books.
Have any good reccomendations? I'd perfer if they were YA dystopian but adult books work too.

I'm the same as you, I love a good dystopian.
The only young adult I've read is The Hunger Games, The Giver and The Obernewtyn Chronicles.
The Giver is amazing, although it's very short. Definitely recommend. The Obernewtyn Chronicles are the other end of the scale... SOOO long. The first few books are amazing though, but as they go on it gets a bit... weird for me.
I've read Brave New World and to be honest I wasn't much of a fan. Probably because i had to study it for school but whatever.
1984 is as well.
My favourite post-apocalyptic novel would have to be The Road though. It's harrowing and confronting and terrible and beautiful. I just saw the movie which was also amazing.
EDIT:
I thought of another one. Z for Zacharia. Good book.

The Giver by Lois Lowry is a great dystopian book for young adults. The City of Ember is sort of an alternate universe dystopia, but I thought it got a little facile at times.
A good one that's technically for adults but is perfectly accessible to young adults is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I've actually never read 1984, but I know a lot of people who really like it, as well as Brave New World.

I agree that The Road by Cormac McCarthy is a great dystopian book. I also loved The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Thats a very good question, although I have no good suggestions on the particular topics you suggest, but The Dragonriders Of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, and The Heralds Of Valdemar by Mercedes Lackey would be good reccomendations from myself.

William Gibson's Burning Chrome might appeal to you. Actually you might like most of his stuff. He's a genius.
Check out Heavy Weather by Bruce Sterling too.
Or John Barnes' Mother of Storms
Maybe Expiration Date by Tim Powers
I may edit further.
