Whenever I drink coffee, I don't become more awake...?

Instead, I become even more tired. Why's that? Do I just have issues or what?

Its because over time you develop a tolerance and now you drink the coffee just because it is something that you like... not to keep you awake.

Think of caffeine as heroin. Heroin users have to keep increasing their intake as time goes on because they're becoming immune to it.

Caffeine is a drug anyway, so it's basically the same situation. You're body is becoming immune to it. It's crazy how quick you go from a teaspoon to a tablespoon!

If you drink it with milk, reduce the amount of milk in your coffee. If you want to, put more coffee in.

We've all got to die of something - my mother says I'm going to go due to excessive coffee intake.

Maybe your coffee is too weak. I can get immune and sleep on it cos I've drank so much for so many years. Try Lipton ice tea . If I drink it after 6pm I'm up till 4:30am

  • Try drinking Tea, it might be more effective than drinking Coffee, or you could try going to bed a little earlier.

It doesn't really keep me awake either and I drink a lot of it, but I bet it raises our blood pressure. I have issues. (smile)

Everyone is different. Some people get the caffeine high, others just go straight into the "crash" and get sleepy.
