How can I make ringtones out of music I have for FREE?

I cant seem to figure it out on itunes and nobody I know seems to know how to do this for free.

Update:

I want to take songs I already own and turn them into ringtones if it is possible.

Update 2:

I dont want to send anything to my phone!

    Tube2Tone.com is an awesome site where you type in Youtube URLs to songs or videos you like, and you can record up to 40 seconds of it as a ringtone and send it right to your phone for free. You don't even have to sign up! It's a really good website and they even have pre-recorded parts that other people have made.
