Amtrak carry-on question?

I was just wondering where you store your carry-on bags on an Amtrak train...I'm going on a short trip this weekend and have two small carry-ons and was wondering if there are like overhead compartments or what? Thanks a bunch!

Overhead racks are available for every passenger. Additionally, Superliner cars (Amtraks bi-level fleet) has racks on the lower level with enough room for larger baggage that require constant access. Most of the uni-level cars have these same large racks located at one end of the car or the other. Make sure your carry-on's have Amtrak tags on them which have contact information, should the rare event happen that you misplace your carry-ons or leave them onboard at your destination. If this happens, maintenance personel will use your contact information to notify you of the mishap, and it's usually sent back to you on a train stopping at your last destination. If you transfered trains at an intermediate station on your journey, your bags will make a similar connection.

I use to ride Amtrak from NYC up to Utica, NY. So I know for sure you can store overhead. You also have the option of storing under your seat. But I would store over head as to not disturb the comfort of the passenger behind you. You have small bags so you have ample space. Hope that helps!

Overhead open-rack storage. Usually plenty of room.

    Have a nice trip!
