I've just received my new laptop and I'm currently transferring my files, how do i..?

How do i increase the transferring speed? I am using a local network connection via my home router and it says it will take 20 hours to transfer 26GB worth of music, how do i increase the transfer rate (in depth instructions if possible please).

Also would it be faster if i used a Lan cable or even bluetooth? Are there any other methods out there.

Thank you in advance!

The only faster method is to take the drive out of the old computer it's in and connect ti to the laptop using a USB drive adapter. Depending on the router, network setup, etc., it might be a little faster if you use a cable connection instead of a wifi connection, but a direct drive connection will be faster than a network connection of any kind. (Cable is faster than Bluetooth.)

250GB is a lot of data, so its going to take time and since your doing it over a network, it's going to be based on the internet speed. The only way to change the internet speed would be to upgrade to a higher speed.
