Belly button piercing and babies?

I want to get a belly button piercing, but in a few years time i also want a baby. My question is, when you're pregnant, what can u do to prevent stretch marks appearing at the area of your belly button piercing? I know obviously you take the piercing out when you're pregnant, but I'm more concerned that I'd have a massive scar at the top of my belly button as stretch marks form from where it was pierced. So what can prevent this other than not getting a piercing there?

Actually, there should be no need to remove a belly button piercing while you are pregnant. All you need to do is replace the traditional jewelry with specifically-made pregnancy jewelry. It is flexible, which is obviously important, and has a longer length, since the piercing hole will likely be stretched to a longer size. Here's a picture of this kind of jewelry (by itself and in use): http://pregnancyandbaby.sheknows.com/blog/wp-conte... ; http://images2.cafemom.com/images/user/gallery/pos...

Also, users of this jewelry rarely report problems with stretch marks, but if you are somebody who will get them, they will come whether you have a piercing or not.

Well, I hope I have eased your fears and allowed you to go for it! If you have any more questions on belly button (or any other) piercing, I'm always open to e-mails.

There are special belly rings you can get when your pregnant. They're flexible and longer. I've known some women who's belly piercing stretched into a big scar but I also know lots of women that were able to just put the ring back in after their pregnancy no problem.

It really depends a lot on your body type and your body shape. I have a tattoo on my side, and also a bellybutton piercing and I imagine when I get pregnant I'll take the piecing out and it will heal up, and my tattoo may need to be touched up after, but I don't have any stretch marks so far and my mother doesn't either, which may mean I might luck out.

It really depends on the elasticity of your skin, if you don't have any stretch marks or growing marks so far, you may be okay.

I took my belly button ring out when I was about 5 months pregnant. It stretched throughout the pregnancy, but now that I have lost all the baby weight, it has gone almost back to normal. It is a teency bit stretched, but I have the ring back in and it looks pretty normal. Oh btw, I only had one child. ~ωуαттѕ мσмму~

I kept my peircing in, you can get plastic bars that are thinner and flex as your belly grows, i have one little stretch mark above my belly button, and i mean right above it, and thats after TWO kids but after a while they just fade and you cant notice them, i use bio oil every day on my skin and its ideal to use during pregnancy to prevent and fade stretch marks, i think in wilkos (in uk) you can get an own brand of this so its cheaper.

    Hope this helps.

You can get special pregnancy belly bars that bend as you grow - my friend got hers in brighton. There are also varies creams that you can get to help with stretch marks, and oils that you apply all the way through prenancy. hope that helps!
