Can you recommend some classical pieces of music?
As in the 'classical' genre as a whole. It's quite a new area of music for me so I don't really know where to begin listening. One piece I do love is Chopin's Nocturne in E Flat Major Op.9 No.2 if that's anything to go by.
Thank you.

Start with more Chopin - he's my favourite anyway. Since you like Nocturne #2 try getting a CD (the library is a good cheep source when you are just getting into classical music) of the complete Nocturnes to start - they're all lovely (#20 is my favourite piece of all time). Branch out into Chopin's other stuff from there - it's all good. If you like the peaceful solo instrument idea I would also suggest Bach's cello suites. My favourite slightly lesser known composer is Boccherini - his stuff tents towards the light and happy. One thing I found useful when I was first getting into classical music was to just find a variety CD of an instrument or mood I liked, or that had a piece I already knew I liked and then once I'd listened to that a few times I'd find more from the composers of the pieces I liked the best. Hope that helps! Good luck!
(also may I take a guess as to the meaning of your screen name and say that mine will always be 10?)

There are several genres within classical music. Early classical music is termed baroque and a good example of a baroque composer is J.S. Bach. After that orchestras develop and you get the more commonly played classical music like Mozart and Beethoven. And later the genre continues to develop and alter until you get fusions of classical music and modern genres to create things like symphonic rock.
I would recommend as a great piece of music to love forever Pachelbel's Canon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZHw9uyj81g
