Inverse Proportions about gears math problem. Simple, but im stumped!!!?

I cannot figure out this problem at all. I dont just want the answer, I need to know the ratio to get the answer. It gives me a front gear, rear gear and rear tire measurement (a bike). (all these are radius) the front gear is 3.75 in., the rear gear is 1.5 in., and the rear tire is 13 in. The question states, "If the front gear is spinning at 75 rpm, at what rpm is the rear tire spinning?"

Thank you for any help. Much appreciated.

    The radius of the tire is beside the point. Let R be the radius of the crank gear and r the radius of the wheel gear. Figure out what length of chain is going past the crank each minute. In that period of time, the crank turns 75 times.

    radius of crank gear = R

    circumference of crank gear = 2πR

    length of chain = 75(2πR)

    Let f be the rotational frequency of the wheel. Compute the chain length again.

    radius of wheel gear = r

    circumference of wheel gear = 2πR

    length of chain = f(2πr)

    The same length of chain must go past both gears, so equate the formulas.

    f(2πr) = 75(2πR)

    fr = 75R

    f = 75R/r

    Note: Not long ago, I taught from a geometry book that asked a similar question, but the relationship was printed incorrectly. It was not a bad book, but that particular assignment did more harm than good. I hope you did not get this problem from the same book.

    start up by allotting the three into the x-4. To distribute, you're taking the quantity on the outdoors of the parentheses (3) and multiply it by the separate values on the interior (x) (-4). thrice x equals 3x. thrice -4 is -12. integrate the values. you at the instant are left with 3x-12. Your equation now feels like this: x + 8 = 3x - 12 Now you will desire to get all the x values on the comparable area: x + 8 = 3x - 12 -1x -1x 8 = 2x - 12 (From right here i anticipate you be conscious of a thank you to remedy it, yet nevertheless) +12 + 12 20 = 2x /2 /2 10=x properly, this is the respond. Sorry if I at a loss for words you.
