What does E 63 AMG stand for on 2009 Mercedes Trunk Lid? Number of cylinders, HP, Torque, and displacement?

The "E" stands for the E-Class chassis. The "63" stands for the engine displacement. However, Benz smudged the number just a little bit. The actual displacement of the engine is 6208 cc so it is a 6.2L, not a 6.3.

The reason Benz calls it a 6.3 is because it is the first engine AMG designed in-house (all previous engines were modified Mercedes engines) and the 6.3 name honours the first car AMG modified when it was founded 40 years ago (the 300SEL 6.3).

But he also didn't mention what AMG stands for. It stands for "Aufrecht Melcher Grossaspach." Aufrecht and Melcher were the founders and Grossaspach is the town in which AMG was founded. :)

It's kind of the displacement of the engine. 63==6.3Liter, 55==5.5Liter
