Can preschool expenses for a 3 year old be considered a tax deduction?

Just wondered, i'm doing taxes for a friend who's 3 year old daughter attend both preschool and daycare, but they are different facilities so she has to pay fees for both. She works full-time so often the child is in preschool while her Mom is at work.

Both preschool and daycare expenses may qualify for the child and dependent care credit if the child is in preschool and daycare so the parent (and spouse if married) can work, look for work, or go to school.

If the child is being cared for while mom and dad are both at work, the expenses will count toward the Child Care credit.
