Question about an iPhone please help?

E stand for EDGE.

Cellular provider provides their customer to be able to make internet connection on their mobile phone by means one of these :

3G ,

EDGE ,or

GPRS .

Your provider cannot provides 3G on all their coverage area.So,some area provided with 3G which is the fastest connection above all,some only provided with EDGE connection.EDGE is less fast than 3G but faster than GPRS.

When your phone has E sign,its mean that your re now lost of 3G connection and the only internet connection provided is through EDGE..If that 3G and EDGE sign switch oftenly @ the place you live,means you live in the end of 3G coverage area and a good EDGE area,so when the 3G signal getting weak,your phone will switch to EDGE because the phone will automatically select the highest connection.When it lost,it will select the lower connection.

Most likely in a bad Internet connection area just incase go to settings,general,network and make sure enable 3g is switched on.

It means it is connected to the edge network instead of the 3G.

Your in a lower internet connection place :)
