Red Ring for XBOX 360 Question?

I just got the red ring and im going to send it in to xbox. I dont have a warenty. Is it free to send it in and get it fixed if i have the red ring?

    You didn't have to buy a warranty seperately to have one. As soon as you buy your xbox and after registering it you get a 1 year warranty that covers any problems. You also get a 3 year warranty that starts at the same time that covers only the RROD (Only 3 of the 4 quadrants are lit up red). If you have had you xbox longer than 3 years than you will have to pay a substantial fee to have it repaired.

    If you don't have a warranty and send it back to Microsoft, they will charge you $100 to fix it for you. If you have the RROD, you can learn the x-clamp fix. It's about $8 for the parts compared to the $100 Microsoft will probably charge you.
