How does one determine which the "weaker sex" is? A regular user posits that women are such ...?

but his primary focus of concern seems to be J.D. Salinger. I am often bewildered as to his point. Can any of you help me, please?

Survival of the fittest, ladies; survival of the fittest.

Honestly, I don’t understand why you are singling out J. D. Salinger as a contradiction to my posts. I find her works appalling and outright dreadful.

P.S. I usually give a ‘thumbs up’ to people like D S, but because he(or she?) has been (for months) spreading around his misconstrued delusion on Russian literature and even dared to mock Dostoevsky with his inaccurate statements about him, I simply cannot encourage/reward it. I consider that offensive and true trolling.

Source(s): Maybe he should apologize to me?

I don't understand how a particular sex can be weaker. I think it comes down to each person. And what sort of weaker? Emotionally? Physically?

Women are physically weaker, but not all women. Men are emotionally weaker, but not all men.

And I can imagine people reading this saying ''men aren't emotionally weaker because they don't cry''. Yes, well that's why. People who can accept their emotions and let them out like a normal person would be more emotionally stable than someone who kept all of it locked up inside. I'm not talking about people who burst into tears every 5 seconds, but people who react with the right emotions. Also, women are much more better with loneliness. They're more likely to go out and make friends if their husband passes. But if the wife passes, the husband is more likely to be cooped up inside and cut himself off from everybody. That's statistics talking.

''Women do two-thirds of the world’s work, receive 10 percent of the world’s income and own 1 percent of the means of production.''

Anyhow, I don't know why Nonsense hates on women AND J.D Salinger. Not to mention... everyone who is *not* a Russian. So basically, the whole entire world.

What a silly little boy. I don't think he particularly liked A Catcher In The Rye. Then again, maybe he absolutely *loved* it and hated JD Salinger for writing a book that he liked because JD is a non-Russian.

Anyway, it's a little silly to generalise.

I honestly don't believe any sex is weaker than the other -- be it physically, psychologically or emotionally. Yes, men are known as the strong ones; but I remember my French teacher (and he's a guy in his mid-forties) always claiming women and men are equally strong, as men would probably not be able to endure the physical pain we go through when giving birth, and women don't have as much muscle tissue as men. Or something like that.

I am incredibly tired and exhausted at the moment, so pardon if this is incoherent. I'll edit this tomorrow for a full, well-rounded answer, complete with sources and seriousness. : )

There really isn't a "weaker sex" only what society believes is the weaker. Who knows, there could be a world out there where men are the slaves and women are the rulers. Not saying that women don't have power in OUR society though, their conditions have improved; women have joined the workforce in lots of numbers recently, making almost half of it.

Uh, well, physically, men are stronger. lol

Men are stronger physically, due to secretion of testosterone, which is less present in women.

Also, from my constant experience, I can attest to women being emotionally weaker too. Try telling a woman that what she wore "looks like a piece of ****," using those exact words. She is bound to either be really mad or cry. A guy will either shrug it off, or temporarily have a lower self-esteem.

'Nonsense' has 6 accounts by my last account and is a troll. I would not waste too much thought on him. I have him blocked, since I find his questions juvenile and sometimes offensive.

I do hate to spoil the fun, but maybe, just maybe, the whole 'woman's job is cooking and looking pretty' and 'ordering brides from Russian cartels' thing was tongue-in-cheek.

    I dunno.
