"Tea Party" Movement And Boston Tea Party?

Is there any correlation between The Boston Tea Party and "Tea Party" Movement?

Update:

Glenda B. - Is this an "Heirs of Immigration" blacklash similar to November 10, 1898 in Wilmington, NC? against "Heirs of Emancipation".

None whatsoever. And it is an absolute insult to American History for anyone to attempt to make such a correlation.

See - we actually do have representation with our taxation. The teabaggers are just dissatisified with the President of the United States who happens to be black.

He won the election - and the American system continues.

I can't believe I'm actually going to have to give a serious answer on my troll account because somebody has such a poor grasp of history it makes me want to cry at the state of our education system. There were no laws against abortion back then because people didn't talk about it. It was extremely dangerous and was a serious health risk to the mother that was seen as enough of a deterrent to getting an abortion. In fact, that's one of the reasons (though far from the only one) the laws were passed to begin with. All of this ignores the fact Tea Party rallies often say nothing about abortion, and as far as I'm aware have never focused on the issue, which makes this whole question moot. I'm at a loss for words of how you could get this so wrong. And this is coming from someone who thinks the Tea Party is a total joke.

The new Tea Party decided to usurp the name of the Boston Tea Party as a form of insult. Alice in Wonderland would also be insulted by the way the new Tea Party is tarnishing the name of tea parties everywhere.

Boston Tea Party was a rebillion against over taxation. The curren Tea Party is a rebillion against over taxation as well but also over-sized goverment and fiscal irresponsiblity.

A general sentiment of opposition to unfair taxation.

That's pretty much the only similarity.
