I am a junior and need to get faster before august for football?
I am so freaking slow. i had run testing today and ran a whimpy 5.3. i really need to get faster for football. I am pretty strong though squating 315 and cleaning 250. But i dont get why i am so slow. I need workouts for running and lifting to strengthen my legs and get faster for football this summer. I play outside linebacker.

All you need to do is run. I don't know how far would be ideal, but, start someplace reasonable, as often as possible, then once that gets easy, run a little further, and so on. If you keep up with it, it will do wonders! And plus, it's free to run outside, and calming, too.

just run for like 5 or 10 minutes a day at first and slowly increase the amount of time when you feel like what you're currently doing is getting easier.

look for programs in ur area that help with speed. Like a speed camp or an acceleration clinic. Also try plyometrics, that'll help with leg strength and power

stretch alot i mean alot it helps so much. then you could do striders which are running exercises to help your form running which is also important. run the T test alot so you can get quicker and run with a weight vest so your body can get used to all that weight so when you take it off you feel lighter when you run
