Use string guages .46-.10. As this set is very versitile. Just pay close attention to changing string guages as it requires adjustments to the bridge, nut, etc. I would check out fender's website and look at the specs on their strats to see what they use from the factory. My opinion would still be .46-.10's.

if u tone down to D or lower go with a heavy gauge, also heavy steal sounds nice on strat if ur into southern blues type stuff. I use a mix of strings i put extra light 9's- 14's on the high e, g, and b then heavy 50's on the low end. it heavy on the low end and light and fast up top. I use DR strings but ernie ball makes great strings to. just play around untill u find one u like, there is no right or wroung brand or size it's all in personal taste.

This depends alot on how thick you like your strings. I have a strat that i play with 11- 48's. Doesnt matter which strings really you buy, but i would recommend DR strings as i have had sets that lasted as long as six months and still sounded new

Personally, I prefer Dean Markley Blue Steel Strings with the guage being .10's. However, the brand and guage really is a matter of preference. You may want to try a different brand or at least a different guage the next few times you switch strings.

yea ernie balls are overrated..........thats why slash, jimmy page, jeff beck, avenged sevenfold, aerosmith ACDC, metallica, rolling stones (i could go on for days) use them.
If I were you, I would get the regular slinkys in the yellow pack or the super slinkys in the pink packs. Knowing fender I would say the string 10's on their guitars at the factory though.

in my opinion dunlop .10-46 guage strings will sound great on your strat in standard tuning. ernie ball is over rated. this is the link to the set im talking about http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Dun... enjoy!

No, get elixirs.
But if you have to get ernie balls, get the super slinkys (pink package)
