I have a great antivirus program. I can't redownload iexplorer 8. I need some suggestions to solve this problem... What can I do to get my Internet Explorer working likeit used to, like it should?
I don't want to use a different browser... that wasn't in the question. I asked how can i get my INTERNET EXPLORER to fuction like it's supposed to again. Idiots...

John,
Here are a few options that should solve your freezing problem:
1. Clear your Cache. Or else run your Junk Cleaner or CCleaner. In IE 8, click Tools > Internet options > Security > Reset all Zones to Default level
2. If still you find your IE giving problems, close it and run IE (No Add-ons). This opens up the browser without loading any add-ons, toolbars or plug-ins.
3. Run sfc /scannow and at the end reboot if asked for. This will replace corrupted system files if any.
If you find it running OK, then the problem is most probably caused by an addon. In that case you have two options :
- Use the manage Add-ons tool, and disable each one after the other to find out which one is causing the problem.
- In Internet Options, go to Advanced Tab and click on Reset tab. Restart IE. This step deletes all temp files, disables any add-ons, plug-ins, toolbars and also resets all changed settings to default. Although this is a quick-fix, you will have to re-install the add-ons.
If you feel the need to Repair Internet Explorer, then this article will guide you http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/T...
If these steps do not solve the problem, I would suggest reinstalling IE8. You mentioned you could not, why?
Cheers,
Bryn

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/avFck
maybe you have registry errors involving internet explorer because you said that it only freezes with the internet browser,i would try to download a different internet browser because that's the only way you can really track down the problem

It doesn't exactly solve your problem, but I still suggest downloading a new browser like Firefox or Google Chrome.
These browsers tend to lock up much less and run much faster than Internet Explorer - they are even faster than Internet Explorer 8!
