Is congress in any position to criminally probe Toyota, when they're the biggest criminals there are?

Thanks in advance for your answers. God bless.

Let's not forget, this is the same government that nationalized GM.

This has created a huge conflict of interest for the government, because now they have a vested interest in the success of GM.

So this probe of Toyota smacks of a conflict of interest. I owned a GM vehicle, it almost killed me. Everybody knows GM vehicles are lethally defective. The defects in Toyotas are miniscule compared to GM vehicles.

GM vehicles are the most defective vehicles on the road. Toyota is the best value, that's why I own two (a car and a truck).

It is utterly laughable for the owners of GM to be probing Toyota for product defects.

This is why the government should not own private companies. Especially when they choose those companies based on the reverse accountability principle - give money to the biggest failure. So we end up giving the most money to become owners of the biggest failure.

That's not just bad government, it's bad business.

Oh please, give me a ****ing break. Toyota should fry for this but lets not act like they're the first or ONLY company to turn a blind eye to sh*t like this. This American feeding frenzy on Toyota is nothing more than a ploy to scare the American public away from Japanese cars and possibly sink the Japanese economy a bit more. Stop this childish nonsense right now.

Oh by the way I suggest to check out I-75 and I-96 in Michigan from south Detroit up to the Flint area. When you get there and see the car parts, tires and abandoned cars all over the high way please let me know how many are Japanese parts ok? :)

Alot of the clowns in congress should rounded up, arrested and tried. They are anti-Constitution clowns.

Uh, in other words no they have no position to probe Toyota. Besides they are to busy probing each others.....back side!

Funny how they're probing Toyota and not Ford, GM or Chrysler - all of whom have had horrific safety problems with their cars as well.

    Protectionism anyone?

Collectively, Congress is certainly unethical and tainted by campaign money from special interests, but "criminal" is an exaggeration.

Your question is essentially a hysterical rant.

Criminally? No. Toyota is not a U.S. corporation and therefore is not liable under U.S. Criminal Code.

Liberal democrats, who run congress right now, are the bench mark for hypocrisy.

Congressmen might point out that it takes one to know one.
