Why is our cat suddenly so meow-y?
Our cat's now about 15, and in the last few months has begun meowing loads, and seeking out attention from anyone and everyone. Is this normal? We moved house last April, but she was fine until about October 2009, and is now constantly wantingus to stroke her. She seems fine in every other way, and is still fit and healthy.

My cat is 5, when we got her when she was semi feral, and quiet.
She loved affection though, but has only ever meowed if she was hungry, wanted to go out, or wanted to come in.
About a year and a half ago, she started meowing.
When, you look at her, walk past her, walk towards her, go to stroke her, when she is playing, when she is relaxing, and I have even seen her stalking a bird, and then she meowed... it flew away of course!
She also wants an awful lot of attention, head butting, purring, wiping herself on people, and she runs to people as soon as they are in the door.
I would take your cat to the vet, just to make sure.
Although it is probably just a senior life crisis!
The vet said mine if fine, she is just a loopy cat.
Hope she is okay, I am sure she is.

Good question. Our cat is about 6 years old and was never very vocal until about the last year, so it is certainly not uncommon for cats to get more vocal as they get older. She will frequently let out a little chirpy cry when we walk into the room and she will meow like crazy when we are getting her food. Never did that when she was younger.
She still isn't too crazy about being stroked, though, haha

it variety of feels to me that your cat is sick, you being close to to her tells that she desires you for convenience,is she pregnant? have you ever took her temp? The fleas can easily suck the blood out of her,and make her aneimic, have you ever went and were given her the once of month flea meds? this can help her,it the cost is like 10 money a month. If no longer dealt with she will die from blood loss. Please take her to the vet, wouldnt you manage you toddler even if it really is sick? solid success.

Has she been neutered? Otherwise this might be a case of her craving attention from toms, not you...
