Can you legally move out when you're 17/female in Missouri?

I turn 18 in July but if I was to move in with a friend for a couple months after I graduate, is that legal? Could I just be like "Mom, dad, you guys have no say..I don't need your permission"

Would my dads child support be forwarded to me?

Update:

Stop being an asshole. I heard it was legal to move out when you're 17 without parents permission. God damn

Until you are 18, your parents do have a say, and they can have you brought in for running away.

Now, here's the story on what you need to move out:

The cost of food for one person--the MINIMUM is $136 a month.

http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/Publications/FoodPlans/20... (but read the Thrifty Food Plan on that site and you won't be very happy. You can have orange juice or milk or water to drink, for example--no soda or alcohol.)

Car insurance for a person under 25 hovers around $2000/year, or $166 a month.

Health insurance: the average monthly premium in 2000 for a healthy 27-year-old male was $132/month.

That's $434/month and we haven't even covered rent, gas, electricity, phone, Internet usage, cable TV. Note I haven't even included clothing, haircuts, laundry...the list goes on.

Say rent for an apartment is $500/month. You will need 3 months' rent to move in. $1500.

You will need a month's deposit on each of your utilities: $50 for electricity, $50 phone, $40 cable tv.

So, $140, for $1600 before you even leave the house. How about furniture? Sheets? Chairs? Tables? If you move out without your parents' permission, don't count on them giving you a stick of furniture or a dollar in help.

You will have to buy a car--and have it registered and inspected.

So, think carefully and budget carefully.

You are a minor child until you turn 18. No moving out, child support cannot be paid to you, you cannot have a bank account in your own name, you cannot legally sign any contract or lease, and you cannot legally work without restrictions under child labor laws. You are not going anywhere until after you turn 18. And then child support stops anyway.

Even then, landlords will be sorely disinclined to rent to you without a track record on the job, employer references, credit records, etc. It takes time and work to establish all of this. You have a whale of a lot of growing up to do in the next 6 months. In about 6 months it will suddenly hit you that you are still a child totally unprepared for independent life in the real world, and then it's too late to run home to mommy & daddy.

No. Until you are of age, your custodial parent still has the right to tell you what you can and can not do. And WHY for heavens sake would you expect your child support be forwarded to you if you are GROWN UP enough to move out on your own? What are you...a kid or an adult? Adults don't need child support...and kids don't move out without the parents permission.

Well the correct answer is YES. You CAN move out at 17 in Missouri if you are a female. I know. Because i did it. And I am doing just fine. Excellent actually. My father was very against it. So of course he went to the police. But as they said. They can do nothing. Although he is still half responsible for me. Through the court if I was to get in trouble even though 17 is still a minor they will charge you as an adult. And your parent(s) could possibly get in a little trouble them selves. But yes you can move out. It isn't easy! But anyone who has common sence can do it. Just make sure to have a job. A nice job! And make sure you can absolutely make it without ur parent(s). Because like mine. They might just disown you. They might take you off their insurance. They might take ur car/truck. They might take everything you have. Just be ready.

You need to be !8 yrs. But you can, through the court system circumvent that if you have some kind of legitimate reason for this early move, other than "I Just want to." And yes if you get court approval, they will have your check go to you as long as your Dad has had the judgement for child support.

The question is why could you pick to leave your parents domicile interior the 1st place. except they're extraordinarily mistreating then you definately you certainly could think of approximately resolving any subject concerns with them and revel on your childrens and sustain your money so once you're arranged to go out you're able to do with out financial undertaking. basically a theory ya understand.

No, it's not legal and no, you would not get the support forwarded to YOU. It goes to your caregiver, your mother.
