Is Vector Marketing a scam?

I am supposed to have an interview today at 5, but I have been looking online and it says it is a complete scam. Does anyone have any experience with Vector Marketing? Should I go to the interview anyway? Thanks!

Please don't do it. It is a scam. I tried it about 5 years ago when I was 19 and the ad in the paper says you make $12-$14 an hour which btw is a damn lie. You go in there have a group interview and your hired like that. Its only after wards you find out that you have to pay to but some Cutco knives and sell them to your friends and family saying their better than the knives you purchase from Macy's, Dillard's,etc. And you have to 'demonstrate' the procedure to the customer, also you only get paid for the demonstration which lasts about an hour or so and if you don't sell at all you don't make any money. What a rip off. FYI:They prey on young people who don't know any better if its too good to be true than it probably isn't.

Vector is NOT a scam by any means. It is not the most traditional job where you sit behind a counter like zombie and do something that any human being on the planet can do. I am a college student and I am 19 years old and I have been with Vector for 19 months. I also heard about the job because I was recommended by my friend. I didn't expect the call, and my friend didn't tell me anything, so at first I was cautious, however after the interview I got the position and since then I have never looked back. It's a guaranteed rate of pay and it varies across the country, my office does $20 per appointment, also there is no cold calling or canvassing and especially no door to door. So if you actually WORK at it and FOLLOW the program you will do well. Also in general keep an open mind and don't take advice from people that have gone through 1 day of training like "mom to be 2 my Princess 81909". If you have an interview and you are curious about going, just go, you have nothing to lose.

It might be too late, but consider this: yes, there are multimillionaires made in "vector marketing"--the same as MLM. But the people at the top/beginning are the ones who win...the "soldiers" such as you DON'T.

Next advice: DON'T invest money, unless you get excellent advice--which will NOT come from the people who want to "hire" you. (I put that in quotes because there are hundreds/millions of scams that indicate they are hiring you--and, where is the employment contract? When and how do you get paid?)

    Be careful here.....and good luck....

Source(s): My source is spending over 30 years in Silicon Valley, where for every 25 year old millionaire are 1000+ wannabees.......

I recommend this method http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=548. It's a good resource that teaches you how to make money online with internet marketing. It's very easy to use and you start earning the first dollars the very first day.

yes. i called them once and i changed my mind when i found it was a dishonest thing, and they would NOT stop calling my house and harrassing my family phone after that. its basically you have to put like $500 up front or whatever to buy a model knife set, and then you have to go around selling the knives to your family and friends or whoever you know. so unless you have $500 to put up front for the knife set, which people are probably not going to buy because its so expensive, i would pass and try something thats more hourly and not just on commission. although my ex boyfriend who did it did say the knives were very nice and worked well, but for $500 it should!

Not a complete scam. Its a door to door sort of thing so if you take it seriously you can make money but who wants to go door to door?

    It's a scam.

They sell knives door to door. You need to drop a few hundred on your sales kit.
