I have PC with 2 LAN cards. 1 Lan card is connected to switch.?
Hi.
I have PC with 2 LAN cards. 1 Lan card is connected to switch and its totally connected to all computers in the LAN.
I have another PC with 1 lan card. But the Data cable connected to the switch is not working. Bcoz there is damage in the cable. This 1st and 2nd PC are in same room. But only 1 I/O Box working condition. Switch is in Other building.
So I have planned to connect PC1's 2nd LAN Card with 2nd PC's LAN Card. I want 2nd PC should access all system in LAN. Like Bridging. But this connection should not affect other PC's.
Help me Plz...

in short yes you could have a fully converged network if you ran a CROSSOVER cable between the two lan cards. most cables you find are going to be straight through so you'll probably need to buy or cut a crossover cable. then from the destop you would go to "network connections" open that up and select the two ethernet interfaces(both should be colored if you plugged in both the connection to 2nd PC and the one to the switch) right click on them and click on bridge.
that should allow info to pass "though" the PC with 2 LAN cards.

connect the LAN cable of 1st PC to another and configure the LAN of it
insert the IP address in the TCP/IP column as shown in the ipconfig command
right clik on each drive on the first pc and share them
do the same procedure for the second PC's LAN card also
dont insert the LAN CAble of ur first pc into the switch LAN is not like this
connect ur 1st PC LAN Cable into the second PC LAN Slot

Go ahead! It's a good idea. If you want to share the Internet connection, try to configure the setting of the 1st computer connected to the switch.

I don' t thing there should be any problem there.
In fact it will help reduce the congestion in the ethernet line...
go ahead.
