Are there any takaful life insurance policies in the US?
I am considering transitioning into a career in insurance, and there is a mosque in my neighborhood (normally I would consider asking to speak with the imam on this, but I want to avoid embarrasing or offending him or myself). I know that commercial life insurance is forbidden for Muslims, because it contains aspects of gharar, masir, and riba. I also know that in Europe there are some companies that sell or underwrite community-funded defined life insurance plans that meet the definition of takaful.
But I'm curious whether a) there are any such companies or policies in the US, and
b) there are any life insurance policies available in the US that meet this guideline?
Serious answers from those with specific knowledge is much appreciated.

Yes, in some states (and growing) there is takaful insurance set up. However, there isn't any takaful compliant life insurance. I can't see how it could EVER be takaful.
Best's Review had a big article on Takaful a couple of months ago, if you can lay your hands on a copy - including carriers and regions.

there is no Takaful insurance in U.S. Takaful Insurance is exist in a country which has Moslem main religion. Why u need Takaful insurance? Do you not believe with other kind insurances? This is my advice, learn carefully about Takaful system, and then find the insurance which has similar system. Or try to find a Bank which use muamalat system, usually they offer insurance too. if u are a true moslem, please try to remember where u are..Pleaseeeeeeeee
