Remind me please, why Ellen Degeneres is a judge on American Idol when?

They wanted a lesbian on the show why else?

Because she is hilarious???

LOL, I don't really know. She said on her show that she didn't set out to be a judge. She called the producers to ask them when/if she could come to a live show and they said "in the audience, our on the Judging Table?". So, it sounds like they had her in mind before she ever called. I think it's kind of good having someone who isn't trained in music on the panel. She's kind of the "voice" of the viewing audience, one who gives advice/criticism without saying things like "you were a little flat....that note went a little sharp...etc". Things a lot of the tween who watch would have no idea about.

But, I am a huge Ellen fan, so I like that she's on there. :-)

Well, all of the straight female judges turn into cougars once they join the show. They don't have to worry about that with Ellen.

Because she has to please people everyday in her talk show and has wonderful stage presense. Plus any normal person loves Ellen so when Paula left and Ellen came on it attracted more viewers.

She knows the entertainment industry very well. She knows what average people are looking for from the entertainment industry.

SUCESSFUL stage performer amd SUCESSFUL show host that has TOP BILLED musical performers on her show from time to time

She is an absolute joke and provides no substance whatsoever. She merely says, "I like you" and "I think you can push yourself" and then she repeats herself or repeats what the other judges have already said.

Ellen Sucks.

She's on to get the shows ratings up!!!!!!!
