Democrats, do you agree that the teachers at the high school in RI should have been fired?
Because the students were not meeting academic standards.
Gosh blue haird old lady. You sure do have alot of anger.....I agree that the teachers should be fired. But the rest....
I just am not sure that the students are as much to blame as you say....from what I have heard, some of them cant even speak English!

There's joint responsibility here - both the teachers and the parents are responsible (if you don't raise your children to believe that education is a desired goal, they're not going to learn).
Maybe we should return to the world of Darwin, and if the kids don't want to learn, let them not learn. McDonald's can always use more career hamburger flippers.

Why do we waste time on educating the ineducable?
Teachers should not be expected to be miracle workers. If the child comes from a home where education is not given importance, then there is only so much the teacher can do.

It is the teachers jobs to teach the students.
Perhaps the teachers need to start taking a pre-emptive approach and expelling the kids that refuse to meet the academic standards. Kick them out. Let their parents (who obviously aren't doing THEIR jobs) send their little brats to private school.
