Do I need to get permission from people to use their name in a book?
I am writing my dad's life story and wonder if I need to get permission to use the names of people he knew that are probably all dead now. Should I change the names, especially since a lot of the things I am writing about I am having to make up the names and places anyway. I know the details of the stories except who and where in a lot of the instances.

Do change the names, as most people like to be anonymous. However, make a note at the beginning of the novel. It's also a form of written permission if you use their names.

relies upon on how your call became used for starters. once you signed a settlement to artwork for the gang there became very probable a provision allowing them to use your call. That settlement probable reported that as long because of the fact the communicate became concerning the time you worked for them your call ought to be used. In different words you very probable DID provide the rights if all they are asserting approximately is your affiliation to the gang. would not matter what words you left under, you nevertheless worked there at that factor.
