i went to a "doc in a box " and did not see the doctor. Just requested a lipid panel because when i was in the military 20+ years ago My numbers were high. My glucose is fine, I am a vegetarian and exercise regularly. I guess i have bad genetics. No health insurance because of the high price and i am one of the many the Great USA lets fall through the cracks.

Unless you're having symptoms, you don't need a procedure.
Ask your doctor about use of a generic med such as simvastatin or pravastatin. Also, look into the $4 meds @ WalMart.
Ignore "colpofan". He is fixated on the erroneous idea that cholesterol levels have no effect on CAD. He's also known for cursing & insulting those who disagree.

Vegetarian, but what do you actually eat ?
Mostly veggies, greens and fruit ? Or a lot of cheese, avocado, nuts, which all have a lot of fat and oil ?
Nuts should be no more than about 2 ounces a day. No cheese. Dairy fat is 2/3 saturated.
Even the avocado should be limited .
You need to have very low stress, regular good supply of anti-oxidants, thiamine for artery health, niacin for HDL, and foods that stimulate paraoxonase that enhances HDL. Herbs and spices, and all berries are all very high in antioxidants. Find others.

You are right to be worried, people with your numbers have a much higher chance of getting coronary artery and cardiovascular disease. What you need now is to get back with the doctor who did these tests on you as it is very likely he can prescribe medicine to lower your LDL levels. Why do you not have insurance?

Why do you THINK just because your cholesterol is elevated that you have plaque. It does NOT mean that.
Cholesterol is NOT a cause of CAD
Did your doctor check your BLOOD SUGAR? Probably not........
THAT is what causes CAD.
