Dodge Intrepid heat related engine skips misses, stalls and no start.?

Question

2000 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 V6 24 valve automatic possessed? 
Engine Runs great when cold and during warm up then goes absolutely berserk....erratic skips, spark knock at shaky idle (loud), hesitates, no power whatsoever and stalls and generally won't restart until a 10 or 15 minute cool down - only to repeat the symptoms in a random space of time (sometimes 1 or 2 minutes later, sometimes 15 minutes later. I've determined (obviously) that something is not functioning when it gets hot. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Well I'm with you on the computer but only if the driver is actually dropping out. You want to make damn sure you dont have a chaffed harness somewhere between the PCM and coil trigers at the coil. Also coils can get heat soaked which will cause a skip when hott. Just food for thought, hope this helps.

the only issue i know of with the two.7L specifically is sludging interior the oil passageways. This issue IS brought about via unfavourable maintenance! attempt to get records of oil variations and forms of oil used. in case you purchase it, exchange the oil each 3000 miles or 3 months (which ever comes first) and used the oil recomended interior the proprietors instruction manual (grade and wieght). i might propose Havoline for the 1st oil you put in it simply by fact it has the optimal detergent content to bathe out the oil passageways.
