braided line? Fireline or powerpro?

Witch is the better braided line power pro or fireline. I have used fireline for quite a while with good results.. Several of my friends use powerpro. Witch is the better one.

I think both are equal. Depends what you use it for. If your going for light-medium powered fish; fresh or salt water, I would use Fireline. If your going for more heavy duty fish; fresh or salt water, I would use PowerPro.

Powerpro is the best out of the two,I have used both and the Fireline tends to fray a lot faster than any other braid I have used.Out of all the braided lines I have tried powerpro works the best I have tried spiderwire, powerpro, fireline, some other brand I can't even remember the name it was so bad it broke to easy. There is many many more braided lines out on the market now and all claim one thing that they are the best braided ever made.

    Here's my observations:

Fireline tends to hold a bit more "memory" than Power Pro, (making it "stiffer" and less manageable on a Spinning outfit) . Fireline tends to "fray" easier than Power Pro.

Power Pro is limper than Fireline but (for some reason) tends to get more "wind-knots". Power Pro tends to lose it's coloring quicker than Fireline, (which can be easily fixed with a green permanent Sharpie marker).

Both lines are crazy strong. Both lines can last a season of fishing without a hitch.

However, it's my opinion, that Fireline's general diameter feels slightly smaller than Power Pro making it less abrasion resistant.

If you add a 12 - 14LB Fluro leader to either type line it will help with abrasion resistance and cut-offs from toothy critters like Pike and Wallys.

Hope this helps ya Bobber? See ya out there....

I'm not sure which is the best one. In my eyes, braid's braid, no matter what. I put fifty-pound Spiderwire Stealth Camo braid on my swimbait rod for bass. It works well enough. I bought it at Bass Pro Shops. When I walked up to the counter asking about a good braid, the first brand the employee I was talking to mentioned was PowerPro. A little too expensive for me. Almost thirty bucks for a hundred-fifty-yard spool of fifty when I got the three-hunnerd yard spool of Spiderwire for twenty-three and some change.

I stick to what I can afford.

Totally agree with Andy! Thumbs, dude!

Anything heavier than bass fishing, go with PowerPro. Bass fishing and below, Fireline.

I'm from Michigan on Lake St Claire where musky fishing is HUGE. I would go with 30 pound fireline.

well you spelled which wrong lol... but i hear alot of good things about the both of them.. i use stealth braid 50lb test that i got from wal mart for $11. i would rather pay 11 bucks than 30 something for fishing lines that are almost as good as each other.

power pro I use it for muskie at Cave Run, KY and striper at Lake Cumberland, KY fishing and most of the time my rod will brake before the line will
