divorce lawyers deliberately awarded husband more than wife after 32 yrs married. what can I legally do to?

My husband receive more from the division of assets even though we were married 32 years. Our lawyers deliberately made this mistake, followed by another mistake of giving full responsibility of getting spousal support, to me. There are too many loop holes in our separation agreement that prevent my ex-husband from paying spousal support. what should I do>

  • First: get another lawyer and file an appeal, do it quickly because you have a limited amount of time to file an appeal of divorce rulings.

Second: Spousal support as far as I have ever seen is the responsibilty of the receiving spouse to collect it does not go through an agency like child support. And if he is ordered to pay it and doesn't you take him back to court for contempt. There is no one or no agency that is going to make sure he pays alimony.

Third: IF you disagree with the settlement, why did you sign it?

We have one legal system, sometimes right sometimes wrong. But it is what we have in our lives. We either accept it and move on or we find a way to fight it if we think we have been done wrong. If the table ws turned then you would think everything was just fine right? It's not quite clear what happened in your case and what you want. So if you think you have been wronged then fight it. If you are just unhappy about not getting money from your ex then think about why you didn't get it. Must be a reason. We don't know the facts here.

Men are screwed in divorce court every day, all over the world, it's about time some women get screwed too.

Being that the family and divorce court system is heavily biased in favor of women, you must have some serious skeletons in your closet or a really crappy attorney

You are not legally married and the woman could end up in prison for bigamy. Some states when a couple want to marry they have to show their divorce papers to apply for a marriage license.

You can report your attorney to the "State Bar Association" in your state if you think they did something illegal, morally wrong, or misrepresented you in your divorce petition.

They will review all the documents and court papers and reprimand them this can include fines or loss of your attorneys license to practice law in that state.

If The State Bar Association finds any of the above, you can get copies of their findings, get another attorney and file a petition with the court to reopen your divorce proceedings and void the rulings from the former divorce.

If this is a separation agreement and not a divorce agreement you can fix this easily. If you are divorced you have a problem.

If you are just separated - get another lawyer.

I think you can appeal the rulings. You will have to get another lawyer and go from there. It seem like you will be out of more money than it's worth!

You may not be able to do anything. First get a new attorney and do not SIGN anything until you are happy with the agreement. Once you sign it is hard to change your mind. Good luck.

Many girls break up with their significant others, is because they need time to figure things out. Don't take it personally, if you want her back, you have to show her you can help her. If you love her then you'll let her go, that's it. Not everybody who you date in high school you end up staying with, the chances are extremely unlikely. So if she doesn't want to, then you need to let her go.
