Try rapidly cycling the hazard warning switch to see if you can restore operation of the signal switch. Dirt often enters these Ford switches and rapidly cycling the hazard switch will offer a temporary fix. Normally, a garage will charge an hour, or less to replace the combination switch.

You may be looking at replacing the switch in the steering column. Not an expensive fix if you do it yourself, but an arm and a leg at a garage.
