hobos/bums have a reputation of being dangerous. You mother does not wish to spoil your fun, she is just worried about you.

unfortunately this is how the world works. people are discriminated against. They are judged only by a first impression.

I think it's great you're down with the homeless

but if she's anything like my mom, I believe she's paranoid and thinks all hobos are high schooll dropouts with drug problems. If they're female she thinks they're prostitutes; male she thinks they'll rape you.

In short she thinks they're dangerous and detrimental to your well being.

Hahaha, this makes me laugh. Bums are free birds and as far as I know, very fun to be around. If you are young listen to your mother but if you are old enough, make new friends and experience different life styles :)
