adding another pet to the home?

in about a year, i want to get another pet, im just not sure if i want to get another puppy, adopt an adult dog, maybe a greyhound, because they're beautiful dogs, or get a cat, im not a big cat person but i wouldn't mind one if it was my own, if i got a cat i would probably get a british blue.

what do you people think?

Update:

i have a german shepherd at the moment

I have two ex racing greyhounds neither would hurt a fly. They are docile beyond belief and neither one of them will chase or harm small dogs. Our male dog is huge he stands waist high and had 80 races but shows no sign of aggression to people or animals on or off lead. We have a neighbors cat that visits on occasion and both dogs back away from him because he hissed at them once. I know that may not be true of all greyhounds but if you go to a good re-homing kennel and take your time choosing you can find the right dog for you. Greyhounds have a bit of a reputation in some peoples eyes as chasing predators but don't tar them all with the same brush on that front. In the house they spend most of their time asleep, you wouldn't know they were there.

Most greyhounds have a stong prey drive, after all they are bred to race and chase a plastic bag. You should consider that when adopting one, especially if you have a small/toy dog.

I love adult dogs...there are tons af great dogs waiting to be adopted.

Cats..ehhh' ..If you want to get one, then just get one from the shelter, there are tons of color patterns & personalities.

Get a doggie! I want a golden retriever or a toy poodle!

Or if you dont get a dog/cat, get a ferret or a bunny! Very playful pets
