My Elmer's glue has divided in the bottle. How do I fix it? Shaking isn't working.?
Its not old either, but old enough that I don't have the reciept to take it back or remember where I bought it.

Set it in a pan of warm water to see if it will thin enough that you can mix it by turning it upside down or laying the container on it's side.
If not, buy another and be careful where you store it - above 32 degrees.

I've never seen Elmers glue 'divide', even bottles that were years old. That stuff is thick!
Sounds like it may have started to dry out though - the dried stuff will be turning clear, while the rest stays white (assuming that you have the regular white glue.)
It's possible that the bottle has a leak or it didn't seal right.
For the $2, just buy another bottle of glue, rather than fussing with it.
