Actually you can give your dog aspirin. I give my dog an aspirin a day for similar reasons. Poor Fido and Daisy :(

No it is NOT safe at all. Both are actually toxic for dogs. You should get a good joint supplement. CetlyM is a good one that you can order on line. Baby Aspirin on a occassion and you can also use a homeopathic called Rhust Tox you what to get that from an all natural food center ( for humans like Feel Rite or whatever is in your area ). You can also get proper pain medication from your vet, meds that are safe and will help your dog in many areas.

No- they won't sniff out pain killers. Police dogs are trained for certain prescription drugs- not painkillers! I'm pretty sure they can smell it, but they won't re-act to it because they're not trained to. In the process of becoming a sniff-out dog, they are given dummy drugs, and they train them to sniff out those drugs. So, to answer your question, yes, they would just sniff it and move on. Drug dogs will ONLY sniff out for what they were trained for- therefore they will not do anything if they were not trained for pain killers.

Only baby aspirin and then only on the advice of your vet after your pet has been seen or pain medications given by your vet. Other then that NO!

Give your vet a quick call and ask them, I'm sure they'd know.

    Good luck! :)
