How does your older child like to "help" you with your baby?

My son just turned two and he has a three month old brother who he absolutely adores(has to give him a good night kiss, some times it's "No, kiss Mommy, yes kiss Jesse!") and he loves to help me with him.

His favorite is diaper change time. He will pick out Jesse's new diaper(either balloons or no balloons) and watch with great anticipation as I take off the old diaper to reveal "yucky poop" whether there is poop or not. Then "Whoa, Jesse, WHOA!!" I guess I said "whoa" once when he had a rather large poop, now Aaron says that every single time I change Jesse.

So, what are some of your cute stories?

The only help I require from a two year old when it comes to caring for my baby is that he leave me alone so as not to distract me. Otherwise I let the child play with the infant with a VERY watchful eye.

My son is 21 months old. His little brother will be 4 months on the 17th. Every time he hears the baby fart. He says " what is that! baby..fart. shewwww stinky!" while waving his hands in front of his face. lol He also loves kissing, hugging and tickling his brothers feet. They have to share a room and he will get in the closet and get me a diaper for him. Saying " here..mama..baby diaper"

Or few times my toddler has seen the baby's eyes closed and I guess I was being to loud for him bc he said " shhh..mama. baby seepy..shhhh" lol

If I'm nursing, my oldest will look at his brother then look at me while pointing to his nose and saying shh really loudly.

He also does the diaper thing too except it's poop instead of whoa.

  • My two year old daughter likes to help me change her 6 month old brother's diaper. She always gets me a clean one and, like the other mothers have stated, says something like, "Whoa. He pooped," and laughs. She also helps me give him a bath and loves to kiss him and hug him and say, "I love you, too, brother."

haha That's too cute. My son LOVES to give his little brother hugs and kisses. Now that he is 3 months and can look at him he likes to sit and talk to him and wave and things like that. He also likes to help me burp him. lol
