i have a 2002 ford ranger xlt and when its at a stop the engine surges?
the check engine light came on and when we had it tested they said that there is a leak in one of the hoses. so i need to know what hose it could be and about how much it will cost to fix it. the mechanic said that it wont bother the truck for a long time so we dont need to be in a rush to get it fixed. any info will be great

Yes you have a vacuum leak... As far not needing to be in a hurry to fix it ????? If your running to lean you'll burn the pistons out of the motor over a period of time..... Start the truck,,pop the hood and listen for a whistling sound... If still can't find it,,Take a can of starter fluid and LIGHTLY spray one hose at a time... when the engine takes off ( runs at a faster idle) that's where your leaks at.....
