Are you planning on voting against your incumbents in 2010?
Who is in the seat, D or R?
What's your political affiliation?

I'm planning on voting against my senator D-MD who is up for reelection, she's been in Congress since 1977 and is a pork queen.
I'm torn about voting against my representative. He voted for the stimulus, but against the health care bill in previous versions. However, I'd vote against him for the sheer fact that voting him out means one less seat for Nancy Pelosi to sit on as Speaker. Flipping the House means she's booted as Speaker and I really can't stand her. So I might vote against him, even though I'm torn about it, just because I hate Pelosi.

I honestly can't answer that, as I haven't seen who else is running. But Patty Murray (our democratic senator) is up for reelection in '10, and I'd be hard pressed to find a Libertarian, Constitution, Republican, or hell, even Reform party candidate that I didn't like better than her. I suppose it's possible. But it's unlikely. Same with Doc Hastings (my republican representative). That dude is slimy as an eel. I will most likely vote against them both, like I said it's not a sure thing yet. But it won't be because they're incumbents, it will be based on their voting records and because I don't think they represent my views.
I'm a Libertarian.
And, as a side note, I wrote to both of my senators and my rep. the other day to tell them that if they supported the use of reconciliation I'd not only vote against them but would actively campaign for their opponent. Ms. Murray sent me back a form letter thanking me for my support and telling me how a bill becomes a law. I almost went over the part detailing conference committees and sending the final bill back to be voted on with a highlighter before mailing it back to her. I doubt she would have gotten the joke though, and there's no need to waste a stamp.

You have asked a great question! It is my feeling that no matter what party you pick, someone from the media has you brainwashed. Both parties are in bed and corrupt, they want the public bickering over who is at fault so you don't see the truth, their both after the same goal. Career politicians have twisted things around so much, that their treasonous acts go unnoticed, and unpunished. If we want the results I believe you are looking for, we need to stop paying attention to the media, and go for a leader who will do it for the people by the people, who will not take special interests, or payoffs to favor, make serving our government a civil duty, eliminate holding office for personal, business or monetary gain, in fact making any special interest or lobbying treasonous, and hold short terms instead of careers there, and making them accountable like the rest of America is! How many Democraps or Republicons do you think would go along with that? Are you sure you want to align yourself with them? Or do we want REAL change?

Yes, John Yarmuth, Democrat Representative of the HOuse votes 99% with Nancy Pelosi. I do not like Nancy Pelosi and I didn't vote for her. I wanted him to vote with an independent mind.
I will be voting and campaigning against him.

I will vote against the ones I feel are not representing the best interests of the people. Good luck to you

I will vote to re-elect Sen Ron Wyden (D) and Rep Earl Blumenauer (D)
No way Rs will get a majority in the House. If you vote to throw out a good rep just to spite Pelosi you are wasting your vote. Did you vote for Ross Perot or Ralph Nader?

Why vote out somebody in case you do no longer understand what they did or did no longer do? To vote consistent with "incumbency" makes as plenty experience as balloting consistent with any "truths" you hear in any given political marketing campaign advert! balloting is a accountability and area of that accountability is to make the attempt to examine concerning the applicants via the two their information superhighway websites and listening to them talk publicly, in individual and on the tube! people would desire to end balloting stupid so we are able to end electing stupid!

I almost always do, put my fellow Texans keep voting for the same people over and over. We are new to this district, so I am not sure if I voted for our representative in the primary or not.

I have voted against the inumbents in every election for 12 years - maybe more.
But - I live in a very Republican state (Kansas) and it seems everyone else keeps voting them back in.

No. I'm represented in Congress by 3 Ds, and I'm a D.
Although I don't much care for Princess Di Fi, and voted for another in the recent primary (we had to replace our House Representative because she took a job in the administration), at least he IS a liberal. I've always been pretty happy with Boxer, overall.
Uh, you hate the rep from another district and state, so you're going to vote against your own interests?
Wing-nuttery at its best.

I vote straight Democrat. The only possible exception to this would be if somehow a Republican were actually to the left of the Democrat in question.
I hate my Representative McIntyre, but he is certainly better than the sack of baloney that will run against him.
I will vote against Senator Burr (R).
