I'm deeply surprised and sad that the UK does not respond to Chile's plight.?

Chile was our best ally in the Falklands War. What's the problem. Gordon?

In reality, Chile's pretty much sorted for help. They are the most developed country in S America and the damage caused by the Earthquake on saturday was, in comparison to Haiti, fairly localised.

They are the world leaders in earthquake rescue and right now the main problem is repairing the roads leading to the affected area so aid can get in and people can get out.

People from all over the country are assisting by giving food and clothing donations and there is a telethon being held in Chile today and tomorrow to raise money for the people who lost everything.

    Back to answering your question.

The UK has sent equipment and money to assist the Chilean Govt.

I think you'll find that the UK, along with it's European partners HAS responded to the Chilean disaster with monetary help AND the Queen has forwarded a message of sympathy to the peoples of Chile.

It's no good asking Gordon a]or any of his cronies to help, they're too busy fiddling their expenses and dreaming up lies to take them into another 4 years of riding the gravy train.
