How can I get over this nightmare?
Ok, a few nights ago, I had a really bad nightmare! Here it is:
I was walking through my house, when the power went off, so I went down to my basement. Where the fuse was, was a gaping hole in the wall. I looked at it, and something white, bony, and scrawny, with big red eyes, claws, and ears. Kinda like a weird bat-man, or vampire. Anyways, it came out of the wall, and just let out a huge screech, and started to chase after me! I ran up the stairs, and slammed the door! It kept on trying to push it open, and eventually did. I ran into my room, shut the door, hid, and waited. Everything went quiet. Suddenly, I sneezed. I heard it screech, and it pushed the door open, then I woke up.
Can anyone, PLEASE help me get this out of my head?

run it backwards in your mind like rewinding a movie. imagine seeing it from a distance,in black and white and out of focus and hum some kids or cartoon song at the same time. this reprograms how your mind sees it. i also like to imagine cartoon characters popping up for just a second in it too.
i used to have negative dreams or nightmares alot and this is what i was taught to do with them if i felt like that had a negative impact once i woke up. works for real life situations too.

It helps if you tell someone whos close to you. Try to make the situation a funny one. Just think of it as a movie. And how often do you see these Weird batman things in everyday life?

dear friend,
Dreams are reflection of your internal state and emotional being in present. http://www.guidetopsychology.com/dreams.htm check this website ... it very beautifully explains about dreams and its interpretation and how to understand your dream and yourself in the process.
Try and understand the emotions that you go through your dream and see how they aptly reflect in your present life experiences and thoughts and relations. That will help you get over your nightmares.
I personally believe that nightmares are magnified, visual imagery of your internal fears. Check it out... its not difficult but it is challenging.
All the best.
