Bat mitzva of my friend?

You can give her whatever you like for her present, but remember to go big! Lots of these things cost thousands of dollars and in that culture (having lived with it my entire life) is not cheap! So get her something nice. I would suggest maybe a nice handbag or a charm bracelet that is classy and darling.

I am Jewish and I had a Bar Mitzvah last summer. You should dress up fancy for this occasion. It is an important custom in the Jewish religion. It is the turning point of a child becoming an adult. A reasonable amount on money to give her is $50 ish or so. Just act normal like it is a formal occasion. One thing they will being saying "Mazel Tov" a lot. That means "Good Luck" in Hebrew. I have been to several Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.

You must put on a fine conservative outfit such as you might put on to church for the rite and a occasion get dressed for the occasion in a while. Go in your nearby mall and appear round.
