By speeding up Earth's rotation, the magnitude 8.8 earthquake—the fifth strongest ever recorded, according to the USGS—should have shortened an Earth day by 1.26 millionths of a second, according to new computer-model calculations by geophysicist Richard Gross of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.

For comparison, the same model estimated that the magnitude 9 Sumatra earthquake in December 2004 shortened the length of a day by 6.8 millionths of a second

Colin Legg reports from the Andes east of Santiago: "I made this 88-second exposure on Sunday night, Feb. 28th, less than 24 hours after the big 8.8-magnitude quake. Hello,

No; the scenarios have been continually playing out for 2000 years and counting. As you have read Revelations, no doubt you'll see that the people of the 1st century Roman Empire thought His return was just around the corner but it wasn't. Natural disasters such as the meteor which wiped out the dinosaurs, former masters of the Earth for almost 300 million years occurred long before us, 65 million yearsback. Anyway, if you die in one of these disasters ti's the end of the world for you anyway so why fret and worry about Christ's return? Each day could be our last.

Ok, so the earthquakes are a sign that the end times are coming. Remember Jesus said there will be earthquakes and disasters, but it is only the beginning of suffering.

The earth has been having such earthquakes for ...well ever. They are just more rare than lesser earthquakes. And a few ms isnt even enough  to notice and you wouldn't even know about it if it wasn't for science lol. It would take hundreds of such earthquakes to = 1 second.
