Wearing Speedos onboard?

Very controversial issue, I would usually say wear whatever you feel comfortable but after having read this article http://navigatewithnik.blogspot.com/2010/02/speedo... i think may disagree. Obviosuly if you are going on a cruise you are more likely to see the passengers again and ideally you want to make friends and unless you a body of s ports man i dont think anyone else will appreciate you wearing speedos.

I've cruised with Carnival twice and have seen many speedos. lol. Different people from different places will more than likely be on your boat, that means different choices in swimwear like thongs and speedos. There will also be an Adult Only area on your ship with hot tubs and sun chairs. Feel free to let the speedos abound! It's YOUR vacation! :)

(edit) I thought I'd add this after I just read some of the other peoples negative answers.

I just took a cruise to Mexico Feb. 22-26 and it was hot enough for bathing suits. I actually did see guys in speedos and no one seemed bothered.

Don't let these people affect your decision, some are just a bit closed minded and not very cultured.

I have seen it all from speedos to wearing regular shorts in the pools. If you look good in a speedo, then wear it. I found that on European cruises, more men wear speedos than anything else.

Well, I have seen speedos, Board shorts and even thongs on board the ship. It is not uncommon at all.

I highly, highly suggest you take that speedo and throw it in the trash.....unless you are flaming and want everyone else to know it or you're from Europe. Otherwise people will laugh and point.

EEWWW Gross! Fairly or unfairly, men in speedos are usually viewed as gay looking for other gay men -- unless in the Mediterranean, where many Europeans wear them. And unless the guy's body is in Olympics-shape, it's about the same as seeing a 250 pound woman in a bikini. I suggest you get a regular shorts-style swimsuit for the cruise.

That's fine. They just don't want you in ratty cutoffs.
