Is it my imagination, or do buffalo wings taste like chicken?

If you will ask any where you go and order Buffalo Wings, they will all say it is chicken

It has been lots of years since real buffalo has been used as Buffalo Wings, but alas they keep the same name...chicken, pure chicken and boneless chicken (Buffalo Wings at that)

All Wing Stops serve Buffalo wings, and is all pure chicken.

A lot of restaurants substitute chicken wings for buffalo wings because buffalo wings are very rare and expensive. Buffaloes were almost extinct at one point not too long ago, and most of the ones who have survived don't have bones. That's why nowadays you will often see boneless buffalo wings on the menu.
