What are some good russian bands and songs?

Russian modern showbiz is kinda copying the Western culture.

Russian rock is more a pop music, but there is still some good stuff too...

Bi-2 (би 2)

Dance minus (танцы минус) - pop rock, songs: город, цветы

Leningrad (ленинград) - very unusual folk rock,

Sector Gaza (сектор газа) - old school punk rock,

Dolphin (дельфин) - rap, later albums - alternative music.

AK-47 - gangsta rap.

Go to www.musicmp3.spb.ru - and U'll find a lot.

Best Russian Bands

Techno - Dj Smash, Russki Razmer, Oleg Kvasha etc.

Rap - Timati and Seryoga. Many others but I like those two

Folk - everyone sings folk music. Pretty easy to find.

Rock - Leningrad is a good band. Search Vladivostok Fm on youtube to find good Russian Rock, it's not that popular over there. Vladivostok FM was from the recent GTA 4 game and has all Russian songs. My favourite songs at the moment are Moscow Never Sleeps and Volna both by Dj Smash although I also like the Moscow never sleeps version with Timati. Seryoga I like kruzhim, otchego and chornyi bumer (black BMW).

Oldies are the best, CEKTOP ГАЗА, Чёрный Обелиск (Chorni Obolisk, Black Obelisk), for newer try like ФАКТОР 2 (Faktor 2) and their song красавица, but Noize MC which is a rock/hip hop group, Земфира, the list can go on just search top 10 Rooski Rock songs, or Yandex search for top 100 rock bands. Also if you want the truth, Alot of young Russians listen to things like Gangnam Style, Bruno Mars, etc. They play American artists on the radio all the time, and infact if I am not mistaken Moscow and St. Petersburg have American radiostations, as well as BBC.

Agata Kristi (Агата Кристи) - Russian Rock, Gothic Rock: Dva korablya, Sekret, Opium

Definitely listen to Arsen Petrosov. His most famous songs are Kayfuem and Vostochnaya Noch.

i don't really listen our russian music, but still some i love - it's group A'Studio, Bandera.

Also popular - Dima Bilan, Dj Smash, Viagra, Bis, and acctually tons of more, i don't even remember their names

This is not really Russian. But if you're into techno, try Tiesto =). I love him. He's well known in Russia as well.

The only Russian band I know is System Of A Down, but they sing in English ah wait! theres also some girl band my cousin showed me called Tatu!
