It's VERY true! Since I was 5 my mom would braid my hair and I would keep it in for at least 3 months at a time (I'm 14 now). But at 11 I started perming my hair, and my long, thick beautiful hair all fell out. If I had continued braiding it it would've been hip-length by now because it grew really thick and fast when I was braiding it (when I took the braids out it would've grown 2 inches from the last time) now I've decided to do th big chop (shave my head to get rid of the relaxed hair) and start growing all natural hair again. When my hair has grown an inch, I'll go back to getting my hai braided

personally with my experiences braiding my hair does help it grow faster ! for about a few months I braided the sides of my head very often but not the back & over the course of a few months I noticed the sides of my hair were by far longer than the back ! also when I was little my hair was braided all the time && I noticed my hair was superr duperr long ! my opinion personally braiding your hair does make it longer , but disagree or not my hair did grow from braiding it.

Hair grows at the same rate regardless of what you do with it. The only way to make hair grow faster is to take vitamins. However, tight braids such as cornrows will cause breakage, which will result in shorter, damaged hair.

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tinyurl.im/aH7g4 While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

Believe it or not, it just might. Any kind of stimulation on the hair follicles does tend to make them grow faster and thicker, however you may end up just pulling your hair out of your scalp or weakening/breaking your hair. It might work but I would not recommend it- try rubbing your scalp while shampooing or using peppermint/lemongrass based hair products.

Well, it really has the sound of a myth to me. Something someone who liked braids made up. ;) I can't think of any real reason why that would make it grow faster. If anything, less fast because it restricts it more.
