Re: 1984 by George Orwell. Do you think the Party can be beaten? Why or why not?

It's about the book 1984 by George Orwell

I am doing an essay and the prompt for the essay is: Do you think the Party can be beaten? Why or why not?

I personally believe that the Party can be beaten but I don't really have a reason backing my claim up so if you could please help me, that would be great.

If you think the Party can't be beaten then please explain

Thank you

I think message Orwell was trying to convey, was that the Party couldn't be overthrown, and that the individuals actions were irrelevant to his or her fate.

Orwell was convinced that unless we change courses from where history was headed in the late 1940's, a world like the one depicted in 1984 would be humanity's eternal fate.

    Interesting question, thanks!

I think Orwell depicted a very extreme political situation. Not an unreal situation, just an estreme one, then possible.

I think some healthy will to dominate deeply concerns human beings, it's part of our biological nature. It's a positive behavior that helped mankind success.

The almost unlimited domination the book portrays would probably take to the end of human kind because it's enormous.

Then I don't think the Big Brother Party can be overthrown and I suppose in some decades that sad world could be over, dead, concluded. No more human beings on Earth.

Or, now you make me think about, the fading away long process of our kind could trigger a new living condition which could lead to overthrow the Party or barely to an attempt.

But, mind you, even if Man survives to His end and to Big Brother, afterwards there will be a new, different, domination form.

    Hoping I could help you!

    Take care

The world of "1984" is a global one where the three major powers just trade the position of power for the appearance for control of the masses! Governments or Partys are irrelevant as the conspiracy of global function precludes individual freedom!
